All Chrysanthemum leaves are native to east Asia, not to mention that they are revered in the cultures of China and Japan. These leaves are small to medium in size and thin, flat, and ovate in shape. Besides, they are tender and slightly crunchy with mild, grassy, and sweet flavor. As a matter of fact, their flavor is similar to that of mustard greens. Nutritionally, Chrysanthemum leaves are an excellent source of potassium, fiber, vitamins A and C, calcium, and flavonoids. In addition, some of the beneficial effects associated with eating these leaves include weight loss, antioxidant protection, a reduced risk of lung cancer, as well as protection against cardiovascular problems, kidney stones, cellulite, bloating and bone loss.
