Description

Cherimoya is a unique fruit that is native to the Andean valleys of Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. It is spherical-conical with a thick, pale green rind composed of knobby segments. Besides, cherimoya tastes like custard (hence one of its names – Custard Apple). Nutrition-wise, this fruit is high in energy, not to mention that it is also an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese. Cherimoya is also particularly rich in antioxidants, such as vitamin C and carotenoids. These compounds fight free radicals that may contribute to many diseases. Given its delicate, sweet flavor and texture, cherimoya tastes fantastic when added to salads or blended into smoothies.
