Description

Jujubes have been cultivated in Mediterranean countries since biblical times. Besides, they can be found either oval or round, not to mention that they vary in size from a large grape to a golf ball. In addition, they have a hard pointed inedible seed, surrounded by a crisp pith with a flavor that can range from sweet and sour to caramel apple. Nutritonally, this rare fruit is rich in Vitamin C. Furthermore, it was traditionally used in Chinese medicine to treat sleep troubles like Insomnia, considering it is rich in saponins, which in turn have been touted as a natural sleep promoter by several experts in the past.
