Description

Originated in Kalahari, Africa, the horned melon is grown for ornamental purposes as it has actually been the winner of aesthetic prizes gaining recognition for its unusual appearance. This fruit is the size of a large pear and produces spiky points throughout its bright yellow and orange, mottled skin. Besides, its interior contains a rich, jelly-like, lime green flesh with a sweet and tart, banana-lime taste. In addition, the horned melon boasts an array of vitamins and minerals, many of which play a role in its ability to positively impact health. For one, it is a good source of iron and vitamin C. These nutrients promote proper production of hemoglobin in red blood cells, which is necessary for oxygen transport.
