Description

The guava fruit is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Mexico, Central and South Americas and the Caribbean. This fruit may be round, ovoid, or pear-shaped, not to mention that it exudes a strong, sweet, musky odor when ripe. In addition, its flavor is a reflection of its aromatics, though more subtle with notes of pineapple, papaya, banana and lemon. Nutrition-wise, Guava fruits are amazingly rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Needless to say, this remarkable nutrient content gives them many health benefits. For one, guavas can improve blood sugar control, which is good news for people with diabetes or those at risk.
