Description

Limes, which are native to Asia, can be easily mistaken for lemons, because after all, they're both sour and they both belong to the citrus family. However, there are still a number of differences that help us recognize each one of them for what it is. Limes, for instance, have higher contents of sugars and acids than lemons do. Besides, limes are green in color and smaller in shape. As far as their nutritional benefits are concerned, limes have a whole slew of them. For instance, the carbohydrates in them are mostly made of soluble fiber which in turn is known to slow digestion, which keeps your blood sugar stable, and inhibits colon cancer tumor growth. Limes are also rich in vitamin C, which is known to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
