Although they may look like oranges, but kumquats are actually edible in their entirety! Besides, these self-pollinating fruits have always been called “the little gold gems of the citrus family” because they have a very distinctive taste. In fact, their peel is the sweetest part, whereas the pulp contains the seeds and juice, which in turn is sour. Thus, when this fruit is eaten together, you get a sweet and sour taste which is unlike anything else you’ve ever tasted! Nutritionally, kumquats are rich in nutrients such as Antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, B Vitamins, Flavonoid, and Minerals like calcium, copper, potassium, manganese, iron, selenium and zinc.
