Description

Swamp cabbage was first documented as a vegetable in 304 A.D. during the Chin Dynasty. In much of southeastern Asia, this vine is considered a tonic as certain species contains several vitamins, including A, B, C and E. In fact, it is used to treat stomach and intestinal disorders. Besides, swamp cabbage is an excellent option for those individuals who want to lose weight and reduce cholesterol naturally. In addition, it has thin, hollow stems with long, flat, arrowhead-shaped leaves which in turn have a similar flavor and succulent texture to common spinach, with mild, nutty undertones. When it comes to cooking, swamp cabbage is utilized in many standard Asian cooking methods, particularly stir fry with garlic and chiles.
