Abate Fetel pears are native to France and were developed in 1866 by a monk named Abbot Fetel. They are medium to large in size and are long and slender with a slightly curved shape. Besides, they have a smooth skin and semi-crisp white flesh with a velvety consistency. Nutritionally, these pears contain some vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, and iron. As a matter of fact, many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like pears decreases the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and overall mortality while promoting a healthy complexion, increased energy, and a lower weight.
