Description

This « enormous » apple which is a light green to yellowish in color, lasts up to five months without rotting and generally becomes available toward September. It has distinctive light crisp flesh similar to Honeycrisp and Jonagold, and is sweeter than Crispin (or Mutsu). It is also slow to brown when cut, which makes it perfect either for salads or as a snack. Sadly, though, and as a result of its unremarkable name, Shizuka hasn’t gained much popularity in the United States
