Description

Fremonts were bred as a cross of the Clementine and the Ponkan mandarin varieties. They are bright orange and medium sized with a dark orange skin and a juicy, intensely sweet flesh. These tangerines are actually very high in Vitamin C, not to mention that they have some fiber, potassium, and folic acid, as well as two teaspoons of sugar. Several components of tangerines, such as potassium, folate, and various antioxidants are known to provide neurological benefits. Folate, for instance, has been known to reduce the occurrence of Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline.
