Satsuma tangerines are a variety of citrus that dates back to the 14th century. They are medium to large in size and have an orange-red, somewhat leathery peel with prominent oil glands. As for their dark orange flesh, it is firm, extremely juicy, and has few to no seeds. As a matter of fact, Satsuma tangerines are considered the sweetest of all the citrus varieties, though they do offer some acidity. Besides, they contain Fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and potassium – all of which have been known to improve the heart’s health.
