Description

‘Crimson Queen’ was derived from a cross between ‘Stevens’ and ‘Ben Lear’, and was first established in 1993 field trials. Cranberries in general are a healthful food, due to their high nutrient and antioxidant content, and are often referred to as a "super food." Half a cup of these sweet-tart babies contains only 25 calories. Besides, the nutrients in cranberries have been linked to a lower risk of urinary tract infections, prevention of certain types of cancer, improved immune function, and decreased blood pressure. The essential thing to remember when cooking them is that sugar toughens their skins, so it's best to cook them until tender and then add sugar to taste.
