Description

Discovered in South Africa in the early 1900's, Rex Union grapefruits can be easily mistaken for oranges because of the color of their skin when ripe, yet their fragrance and slightly bitter flavor are rather closer to a grapefruit’s. In addition, these grapefruits are an excellent source of vitamin C, fiber and thiamine. They also contain potassium, phosphorus, vitamin A, and calcium, and provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. As a matter of fact, eating this fruit regularly may have the potential to prevent insulin resistance, which can lead to diabetes.
