Description

Grown in and around Treviso, a city north of Venice, Italy, this uniquely colored and shaped chicory was created in the 19th century. It has unique, long and slender burgundy leaves with white ribs that are oftentimes tinged with lime green. Tardivo radicchio also has crisp leaves that are somewhat splayed out like fingers, not to mention that it offers a strong bitter flavor. As a matter of fact, chicory is great for your digestive health as it contains inulin, which is not only beneficial for the digestive system, but it has also shown to reduce the levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol in the body
