Grown primarily in Languedoc in France, the Lucques is a cultivar of olives primarily used as a green table olive. These olives are of medium to high weight and have an elongated, asymmetrical shape. Besides, they are primarily used as a green table olive, considering they taste meaty and sweet, and are a highly valued variety among gourmets. Despite the common misperception, olives are not fattening. They actually contain mono-unsaturated fat, the same good fat you find in nuts and avocados.
