The Bosana is the most common cultivar of olives in Sardinia. The olives of this variety are of middle weight, slightly egg shaped and quite symmetrical, not to mention that they are mainly used for extraction of oil. As for their taste, it is described as "fruity, bitter and spicy”, making these olives an excellent condiment for all dishes. Olives and olive oil are commonly consumed in the Mediterranean region, where rates of cancer and other chronic diseases are lower than in other Western countries. In fact, it’s suggested that olives may help reduce your risk of cancer.
