Description

Chanterelles thrive in forested areas of the United States, specifically along the West Coast, Canada, and in temperate forests around the world. They are dense and meaty, edible, wild mushrooms ranging in color from orange to gold, not to mention that they have wavy, fleshy caps with ruffled false gills that form an abstract tulip. In addition, Chanterelle’s flavor is nutty, with an aroma of apricots or peaches. As a matter of fact, these mushrooms contain high amounts of vitamin D2, which helps the body absorb calcium. They also contain significant amounts of protein, vitamin A, potassium, iron, chromium and eight essential amino acids. In addition, these mushrooms may be served sauteed or roasted in vegetable side dishes, or pickled. Bet they perk up any dish with their amazing flavor!
