The Olivière is an olive cultivar grown primarily in the Pyrénées-Orientales region of southern France, where it is the most prevalent variety of olives. These asymmetrical olives are of high weight, and have a bulging, pointed shape, not to mention that the aroma of their oil is described as "fruit, almond and fresh apricots with a background hint of spicy green mint”. By eating a few of these olives before a meal, you can take the edge off your appetite. This is because the monounsaturated fatty acids contained in them slow down the digestion process and stimulate the hormone cholecystokinin, which sends messages of fullness and satisfaction to the brain
