This Italian variety produces small to medium blue-green heads that should not taste fibrous, woody, or sulfurous when fresh and young. As a matter of fact, a single cup of chopped broccoli provides a great amount of Vitamin C, which in turn plays a role in both the prevention and treatment of various illnesses. In addition, consuming an adequate amount of vitamin K, which broccoli also provides, improves bone health by improving calcium absorption and reducing urinary excretion of calcium.
