Old cucumbers are basically the mature fruits of the cucumber plants. They are large in size, with an outer skin that is yellow to golden-brown in color. Besides, their inner flesh is soft but toothsome, reminiscent of the young cucumber. Old cucumbers have a mild, slightly grassy flavor but may have some bitterness around the seeds and outer flesh. Nutrition-wise, these cucumbers contain iron and vitamins A, B6 and C, which in turn protects the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals.
