Description

Timperley Early is a high-yielding first early cultivar (hence the second half of its name). In fact, it is by name and nature the one to pick first, as early as February. The bright-pink, green-streaked stems of this variety have wonderful white flesh and are simply bursting with sweet, tangy, delicious flavor. Generally, rhubarb is very easy and incredibly rewarding to grow. For one, every serving of it provides 45% of the daily value in vitamin K, which supports healthy bone growth and can limit neuronal damage in the brain, even to the point of Alzheimer's prevention. It also contains infection-fighter vitamin C, the second most prominent vitamin, along with vitamin A, another powerful natural antioxidant for good skin and mucous membranes, good vision, and possible protection against lung and mouth cancers, with healthy additions of folate, riboflavin, niacin, B-vitamins, and pantothenic acid.
