Persimmons are native to China, and so is Hachiya which is high in important vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and B, potassium and manganese. These persimmons also contain beneficial plant compounds like tannins and flavonoids, which have been linked to a reduced risk of certain diseases, including heart disease and diabetes. In addition, the Hachiya persimmon is rounded, with a beautiful deep orange color and a sweet flesh that possesses nuances of baking spices, raisins and brown sugar.
