Native to Eurasia, Golden clover has yellow flowers that become brown and paper-like as they age. Despite the fact that perennial species in general may have good nutritive values, they are widely favored as forage instead. Forage legumes, as a whole, have a very high forage quality. They are often planted in pure stands or mixed with grasses for hay, silage or grazing. Besides, the golden clover is widely naturalized in North America, where it was first introduced by way of Pennsylvania in 1800.
