Description

Orange Cayenne chile peppers first started appearing in seed catalogs in the United Kingdom and have made their way across the pond to America. They are 12 to 15 centimeters in length and 1 to 2 centimeters wide, and have a green stem with its calyx sitting atop like a hat. Most of these chiles will maintain a straight shape, though some may be curved or slightly twisted. Besides, they have a fruity, citrusy flavor before the heat kicks in, which will be apparent right away and will not linger for very long. In addition, Orange Cayenne chile peppers contain high amounts of vitamin C and vitamin A. In fact, hot peppers in general also contain greater amounts of the compound capsaicin, which has pain relieving and anti-inflammatory benefits, not to mention that it is a known cancer-fighting compound.
