Green Arbol chile peppers are native to the northern state of Chihuahua in Mexico and are related to the cayenne pepper. Besides, these 5-7 cm chili offer a distinctive robust flavor with medium-hot pungency. Thin-fleshed, they also have a smoky, tannic flavor with a lively acidic searing heat. Green in its immature stage, this chile turns dark brick red when mature. Boasting high amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants, chillies in general have been found to help prevent lifestyle diseases including some cancers and stomach ulcers. Meanwhile, their ability to create heat within the body has also linked the peppers to weight loss as well as lowering the risk of type II diabetes.
