Yellow radish varieties are documented as early as the 1700s and are thought to have gotten their unique coloring from a genetic mutation. One of these attractive radishes is named "Helios", and is characterized by its sweet and juicy texture when harvested young. In addition, Helios radishes are an excellent source of vitamin C with both the root and the greens offering a significant amount. Besides, they offer a high content of water, potassium, vitamin B6, iron and folic acid. When it comes to cooking, Helios radishes can be roasted or braised which will enhance the naturally sweet flavor of the radish.
