Description

The domestic cultivation of Spinach goes back over two millennia when it was first brought to China in 647 BC. The Baby Spoon is a bright green spinach variety with gently rounded leaves like that of the bowl of a spoon. Sweeter than mature spinach, Baby Spoon spinach offers a delicate nuttiness with subtle flavor and tender, edible stems, hence the reason why it is most often eaten raw in salad preparations. Besides, this interesting variety is rich in vitamins and minerals, and is an excellent source of iron and beta carotene, vitamin C, fiber and folic acid. There's actually a study that showed that the risks for developing asthma are lower in people who have a high intake of beta carotene.
