The cantaloupe was originally cultivated during the 1700’s from seeds that were brought from Armenia. This melon is actually defined by its roughly netted stone and green colored skin and its juicy, unctuous and sweet flesh. Besides, it is an excellent source of beta-carotene, folic acid, potassium, vitamin C and dietary fiber. It is worth noting that the risks for developing asthma are lower in people who consume a high amount of beta-carotene.
