Believed to be native to southern regions of Iran, Persian limes are larger, thicker-skinned, with less intense citrus aromatics than their parent, the key limes. They are also less acidic than their parent and do not have the bitterness that lends to the key limes’ unique flavor. Nutrition-wise, Persian limes are high in vitamin C and offer immune-boosting benefits, making them helpful for treating the common cold. Besides, they also contain vitamin A, predominately in their rind, as well as a good amount of folate.
