Introduced in 2018, Samba papayas are large and elongated with a thin skin that ripens from green to a mottled yellow and then yellowish-orange. Besides, their tender flesh is mild and flavorful, offering a slight sweetness. Samba papayas are indeed very nutritious, considering they are high in beta-carotene and contain 212 different amino acids. They are also rich in vitamin C and vitamin A, not to mention that they are a good source of riboflavin and folate. It is worth noting that all papayas provide beneficial omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and contain the enzyme papain, which helps to break down protein and aids in digestion.
