Native to the Americas, Garandilla passionfruits can be ovoid to spherical, with a firm, smooth rind that transforms into an orange-yellow hue with maturity. Underneath the rind, this fruit is filled with a mucilaginous, pale white to almost clear pulp that is both sweet and mildly tart. Granadilla passionfruit is also considered a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium and iron, which in turn is helpful for treating anemia, one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in the world.
