Introduced in the year 1948, Brown Sugar sapodilla is named as such because it does indeed taste like brown sugar, not to mention that its color resembles that of brown sugar, so there’s that, too! Besides, this fruit is small to medium in size, and has a light, scruffy brown skin along with a pale brown, fragrant, juicy, flesh, which in turn is very sweet and rich. Sapodilla is actually a great source of dietary fiber, which prevents constipation, not to mention that it acts as a colon cancer preventative. This fruit also contains a number of minerals including iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, copper, and potassium.
