Trademarked in 2009, Sunshine raspberries are actually a cross between golden and red raspberries. They are a similar size and shape to the more common red raspberries with some amazing color differences. Besides, their taste is sweet and honeyed with peach and apricot notes. In fact, these raspberries are far less tart than red raspberries. In addition, they are a good source of vitamins B and C, folic acid, copper, iron, antioxidants, and ellagic acid, a phenolic compound known to prevent cancer. Furthermore, Sunshine raspberries also have a high proportion of dietary fiber, comprising of around 20% of the berry’s total weight.
