Known as nature's candy, raspberries have been gathered for consumption by humans for thousands of years. One interesting raspberry variety is the Golden raspberry, which is a milder flavored version of the red raspberry, and offers somewhat of a creamy flavor that some describe as a blend of a banana, an apricot and a raspberry. As a matter of fact, these little eye-catching berries are deep yellow when immature and develop a rich amber gold color when ripe and turn red-orange when overripe. Besides, they are a good source of vitamins B and C, folic acid, copper, iron, antioxidants, and ellagic acid, a phenolic compound known to prevent cancer.
