Description

Nearly 90 percent of onions grown in the US are yellow, and if this doesn’t indicate that they’re Americans’ favorite, nothing ever would! Besides, Yellow onions’ deep but not-too-strong flavor makes them endlessly versatile in cooking. In addition, they are one of the most pungent varieties of onions, and everybody knows what onions like that do! Thaat’s right! They make us cry! Good news is, onions are low in calories yet high in nutrients, including vitamin C, B vitamins and potassium. Besides, a diet rich in allium vegetables like onions may have a protective effect against certain cancers. So, even though Yellow onions give us that annoying burning sensation, they still are worth every single tear we shed on account of their pungency!
