Tahitian pomelos are thought to have originated in Borneo and then traveled to Tahiti, from which they take their name. This fruit is relatively small, although still larger than a grapefruit. Besides, it is round and has a thin, yellow-green rind, not to mention that this pomelo is sweet with notes of melon and lime, and subtler notes of grapefruit. In addition, the Tahitian pomelo is extremely high in Vitamin C. It also has smaller amounts of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B6, and dietary fiber. As a matter of fact, Vitamin C in pomelos acts as an antioxidant to increase white blood cell activity and attack free radicals, which can damage the organs of the body. It also helps to fight off infections that lead to colds, coughs, fevers, and serious symptoms or microbial, viral, and bacterial infections.
