Description

Developed in the 80’s and patented in 1998, Abacavir is actually listed on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Used to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS, this medication works by decreasing the amount of HIV in the blood. And although Abacavir does not cure HIV, it may decrease your chance of developing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and HIV-related illnesses such as serious infections or cancer. It is worth noting that Abacavir is used together with other HIV medications, and is not recommended by itself. Plus, its common side effects include vomiting, trouble sleeping, fever, and feeling tired.
