Remember to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Asenapine as it is still not known whether it could affect the fetus/ the nursing baby. As far as the common side effects of Asenapine are concerned, they include drowsiness, restlessness, nausea, weight gain, and mouth ulcers. There are also other side effects that are rather serious and therefore should be reported to the doctor such as breast pain, difficulty swallowing, sudden weakness on one side of the body, and slow heartbeats. Bear in mind that you should take Asenapine twice daily. You must also drink plenty of fluids while you are taking this medication as it is easier to become dangerously dehydrated during your treatment.
