Description

Approved by the FDA in 2012, Avanafil is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction caused by diabetes, age induced oxidative stress or other complications. This medication works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection. Bear in mind that you must not take Avanafil if you are using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems, because taking Avanafil with a nitrate medicine can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure. It is worth noting that Avanafil can also decrease blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, causing sudden vision loss. In fact, this has occurred in a small number of people taking Viagra or other drugs similar to Avanafil. Most of them also had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or certain pre-existing eye problems, and in those who smoked or were over 50 years old. During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of Avanafil. Remember that you can take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually as needed.
