Description

Sold under the brand name “Alocril”, Nedocromil is used as an anti-allergic medicine in order to reduce certain symptoms (such as wheezing and shortness of breath) that occur upon being exposed to an allergen. As an eye drop, this medication is used to treat itching of the eyes caused by allergies. According to mayoclinic.org, “Nedocromil works by acting on certain inflammatory cells in the lungs to prevent them from releasing substances that cause asthma symptoms and bronchospasm.” Remember to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using this medication to make sure that it will be safe for you and your baby. Bear in mind that Nedocromil should not be used by anyone younger than three years old. Also you should not use it while wearing contact lenses as it may contain a preservative that can discolor them. As far as the common side effects are concerned, drugs.com lists the following: headache, runny nose, eye redness, and mild eye irritation. There are, however, other side effects that require medical help, namely severe burning or irritation after using Nedocromil.
