Breadfruit was introduced to the Western world by British explorers in the late 1700's, and Tamaikora happens to be one of its interesting varieties. For one, it can be cooked and eaten at all stages of maturity. Besides, it can be boiled, fried, baked, steamed, pureed, or even processed into a gluten-free meal or flour. When ripe, Tamaikora breadfruit will have a flavor and texture similar to a baked potato. In addition, this fruit contains protein, vitamin C, B vitamins, fiber, and minerals such as calcium, iron and potassium which in turn helps the blood vessels relax and maintains proper blood pressure.
