Developed in the late 1930's, Lapin cherries are distinguished by their deep ruby red colored skin and their lush, plump size. They also have a smooth and rounded surface with a slight heart-shape, not to mention that they have a rich, sweet flavor, without a trace of tartness. Besides, they contain anthocyanins along with a good amount of vitamins A and C, iron and boron, which in turn is sometimes taken in supplement form to boost athletic performance and improve thinking or coordination.
