Believed to have been grown in the early 1900's, Big Mac pumpkins are extremely large in size - so much so that they can weigh up to 90 kgs! As a matter of fact, pumpkins in general are nutritious and linked to many health benefits. For one, they are very high in vitamins and minerals, not to mention that they are a great source of beta-carotene that our bodies convert into vitamin A, which in turn is essential for many processes in the body, including maintaining healthy vision, ensuring the normal function of our immune system and organs and aiding the proper growth and development of babies in the womb. When cooked, Big Max pumpkins are dry and fibrous with a mild, semi-sweet flavor, which explains why they're not commonly used for cooking or baking. However, nothing that comes from nature is entirely useless, because Big Mac is still edible and may be prepared similarly to smaller pumpkins.
