Blackberries

Blackberries have been consumed for centuries by humans, mainly by North Americans and Europeans. Interestingly, the blackberry is not actually a "berry" in the botanical sense of the word, but rather an aggregate fruit, composed of small drupelets that are held together by very fine, nearly invisible hairs. Not only are these fruits tasty, considering they are sweet, slightly tart, with earthy undertones, but they’re also very nutritious, as they are notable for their significant contents of dietary fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin K. In addition, the antioxidants in them prevent the development of vascular diseases that often occur in type 2 diabetic patients. Besides, the sweet-tart flavor and earthy quality of Blackberries allows them to be used in both sweet and savory applications.
